Conference – “The Future of USA-Turkey Relations and Diplomacy as a Profession”

Yaşar University International Law Implementation and Research Center organized a conference on “The Future of USA-Turkey Relations and Diplomacy as a Profession” with the participation of Ambassador (ret.) Namık Tan.

Serving as Turkey’s ambassador to the United States between 2010 and 2014, Ambassador Namık Tan’s first overseas posting was in Moscow, Russia, where he was stationed from 1984-1987. During his talk, Ambassador Tan shared his own experiences in the field and discussed the difficulties of being a diplomat.

Ambassador Tan also evaluated the recent developments in US-Turkey relations and discussed how bilateral relations have come under increasing strain in the last years.
